When We Two Parted

                                 When we two are parted

                                                Lord Byron
When we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted,
To sever for years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

The dew of the morning
Sank chill on my brow
It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.
Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame:
I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.

They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;
A shudder comes o'er me
Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well:
Long, long shall I rue thee
Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met
In silence I grieve
That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
After long years,
How should I greet thee?
With silence and tears.

George Gordon Byron is known as Lord Byron. He was the ideal of the romantic poet, gaining notoriety for his scandalous private life and being described by contemporary  as ' mad, bad, and dangerous to know.'

The poem ' When We Two Parted' is the most beautiful poem of Lord Byron. The poem is full of emotions and fallings. but.. The lover takes about his beloved and their separations.

The first stanza, poet talks about their separation and he says that when they parted, they both were silence, they both had no words. They had tears in their eyes because of pain and suffering which was unbearable for both of them. And poet revealed the reason ...................

Why they are parted?

With broken heart, Lover says that... Her cheek is now shining less and her kiss is now cold because She is no more. She is dead now. it is unbearable truth for him because now he has to live without her.

Poet knows that all must be died one day as when dew of the morning is destroyed after some time. It seems like one warning to him.  Lover thinks that her all promises are broken and her fame was also pale and some of them destroyed also. Lover has great faith in her beloved. But..... When he  heard her name from the other people , he feels shame . Many people spoke her name in front of her lover and also gossiped why he was feeling so bad for her?
Why is she so dear for him?

Next stanza, poet describes that he loves her a lot. people who are talking about her, they don't know anything about them. May be it is possible that only He knows very well about 'her' - his beloved rather than people. Her beloved wants to talks, wants to tell about her but he can't do that.

After the death of his beloved , his already broken. He has regretted that he can't tell anything frankly about their relationship to people who are talking about her. He suffers a lot .

At they end of the poem, in the forth stanza, her lover informs us that they always met in secret and can't talk each other means .... Both are meet in silence and then even they have great intimacy between them. They never talked each-other, then even they understood each other very well. And, that a\matter became more painful for Lover.

Now , his beloved is no more and it is possible that all those things are forgotten by her and also can't be felt by heart. Last two lines suggests How Lover eager to meet his beloved! some how he has fear to face her again and says that.................

"  If  I  should meet thee,
              After a long years,
I will meet you with Silence and Tears."

માધવ ક્યાંય નથી !

માધવ ક્યાંય નથી .......                                  -    હરિન્દ્ર દવે          ‘Madhav  Kyay nathi’  is written by very renowned writer Harindra Dave. The title of the novel – itself suggest something. I think there are two aspect of the title. First , he is not at any particular place means that he is omniscient . And second meaning is that he is no where!               The plot of the novel also deals with this idea and gradually reveals the whole events of Krishna’s life. The story  of the novel reveals not only Krishna’s journey from his birth but also with him we find the journey of Naradmuni who wants to meet Krishna but unfortunately he can’t.                 The novel based on only Naradmuni’s desire or extreme eagerness to meet Krishn...
