I remembered the character, Awuchike  from 'The Swamp Dwellers' while reading સમયદ્રિપ by Bhagwatikumar Sharma.  Awuchike lost in city and never come back to home. Wole Soyinka very well depicts the crisis between tradition and modernity. સમયદ્રિપ also deals with the same aspect of two different way of living life. Nilkanth is thrown out from his house only because of his acceptance of new way of living lofe. People are cult in city. Pain and suffering is fully visible. Youth is tempted by city. Awuchike and Nilkanth both are victim. Modernism has bombarding effects on youth.

Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad

Heart of Darkness  - Joseph Conrad  About Author:   Jozef Teodor Konrad Nalecz Korzeniowski is known as Joseph Conrad. The loneliness that surrounds every human soul. - Joseph Conrad  Conrad's subjects are mostly related with adventure in an unusual or exotic setting. He gives deep thoughts to his technique of presentation, his prime intrest in characters, in the tracing of the life. Like Hardy, Conrad had a profound sense of the tragedy of life, but did not lead him to a spirit pf resentment or accusations. Man's struggle aginst hostile forces, in his display of loyalty, courage and endurance in the face of heavy odds, he saw the finest thing in human life. He was profound thinker, but would have nothing to do with sociological or problem novels. His evocation of atmosphere is tremendously powerful. His narrative technique is simple and direct but it is ideal for kind of psychological investigation in which he interested and pervading atmo...

Far From the Madding Crowd - Thomas Hardy

Far From the Madding Crowd Thomas Hardy About Author : Thomas Hardy (1840-1928 )  is one of the few writers to succeed as both major novelist and poet. He was born in Dorset on 2nd June, 1840 in the early part of queen Victoria's reign. He was a serious novelist attempting to present theough fiction a view of life and totally different from his great contemporaries. His mood is pessimism. Hardy was never quite certain of his philosophy because Hardy uses an impersonal and malign fate as a being possessing free will, in the play. His characters are mostly ordinary men and women living close to soil. He has qualities of handling striking situations with great firmness of touch and a telling realism, and all his best novels contain individual scenes which are unforgettable. Increasingly harsh attacks by critics on his 'pessimism' and 'immorality' in the later novel led Hardy to ababdon the novel from forever. About Title:  Hardy bor...

Othello - William Shakespeare

Othello - William Shakespeare  About Author:  Othello is one of the best tragedies written by William Shakespeare. I have read Ben Johnson's famous lines in some material that, "And though thou hadst small Latin and less Greek" have created the impression that he was unlettered.  Thr fact is that Shakespeare was naturally learned. His mind was vigorous and active.  "His plays are extraordinarily rich in floating debris of popular literature Scraps and tags and broken ends of whole world of songs and ballads and romances and proverbs."  Shakespeare was great humanist, tolerant of all views and all manners of Man. He was whole man and he revealed the whole of his complex personality in his work.   Ben Johnson called him, "Not of an age, but of all ages, not of one country, but of all counties."  About Play:  The Play 'Othello' is borrowed from the novel ' The Moor of Venice' written by the novelist, Giraldi Cinth...
