NET/SET Workshop Feb 2018

Special thanks to  Prof. Dilip Barad to arrange such wonderful NET/SET workshop at Department of English - Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University. Department of English is always a source of inspiration for me. I was very excited to attend this workshop because i was not able to attend it last year due to my health. Really, it was much fruitful sessions for NET/SET aspirants like me. It was  pleasure to attend Workshop with dear friends. The workshop was divided in two sessions.

Prof. Dilip Barad Sir gave brief introduction about the expert - Atnu Bhattacharya

First session was conducted by Dr. Prof. Atnu Bhattacharya- Chairperson centre for English studies School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies, Central University of Gujarat Gandhinagar. It was wonderful session conducted byhim. He started with questions and also gave answers of many questions with well clarification of our doubts. He said that one must be selective while reading. From where to start? Using pro-texts can be helpful to define various doubts and slove the questions because it is impossible to read all original books of various literature. He draw the direction map to show us how to prepare for such exam. He covered many areas & gave many tips to prepare in various areas.

Like how to remember important dates and years. We must focus on the fundamentals of the events of the history, texts and writers. He also informed us some important books and websites. Smart work is more necessary with hardwork. I assured that it will be very helpful for us. We will transformed our reading into the  results of NET/SET. Thanks to  Atanu Bhattacharya sir.

Second Session was conducted by Dr. Prof. Sanjay Mukherjee - Department of English and Comparative Literature Studies, Saurashtra University, Rajkot.
Sir gave very important analytical details of the exam. He said that we have largest areas and aspirants should think about all those areas without missing any important one. One should know what should one study about ? How and what to prepare for exam ? He covered several areas of theories which is more important now adays to study.  Such kind of exam demands superficial skimming so we should read with focused idea. We should prepare the notes while reading and it will help us a lot in exam.

Novel has the  female  protagonist Kanchanba.  આમ તો આખીયે વાત કાંચનબા ના જીવન ની જ છે ને તેમ છતાંય એમાં ઘણું છે જે એક સ્ત્રી ને જ નહીં આખાય માનવજગત ને લાગું પડે છે.  Chandrakant Topiwala said that...... This is story of journey not only from Outside but the most necessary from the 'inside' also. નવલકથા માં કંચન થી લઇને કાંચનબા સુધી ની સફર છે. Book review on ' Gandhi Ni Kawad ' by Harindra Dave.

Gandhi  Ni Kawad                             - Harindra Dave             One of the most famous Gujarati writer - Harindra Dave writes so many novels, Plays, essays and poetry also. " Gandhi Ni Kawad" is  written by Harindra Dave. "This novel is X- Ray image of our society."             Title of the novel is very symbolic. Through the reading readers can't understand the meaning of the title but at the end it is really very symbolically represented the core of the novel.             In this novel we find satire on politics and system. We can say that novel has the plot of politics. Though it has some furious senses, it remains pathetic till the end. The protagonist Karunashakar himself becomes the victim of the system who is against of this system. Karunashankar is used by politicians as manageable commodity.  and he becomes scapegoat of them. And , at the end he has no  way to escape from the situation in which he himself ca
