ટોળું એ જીજ્ઞેશ વ્યાસ દ્વારા લખવામાં આવેલી લઘુકથા છે. જેમાં માનવજીવનની વાસ્તવિકતા અને વિષમતાઓ સુપેરે રજૂ થાય છે. બહુ મોટું ગહન સત્ય એ સરળતાથી રજૂ કરી આપે છે. માણસ પોતાના જીવન દરિમયાન કોઈ એક ક્ષણે અથવાતો પરિસ્થિતિઓને આધીન થઈને પણ  ટોળાંનો ભાગ તો અવશ્ય બની જાય છે.  સંસ્કૃતિ, સંસ્કાર, વૈચારિક વારસો, જીવનના મૂલ્યો, ક્ષણમાં તો કેવા ઓગળી જાય છે એની વાત લેખક અહીં કરે છે.   માનવજીવનમાં બનતી અનેક નાની-મોટી ઘટનાઓ હ્દયને ઘણી વખત હચમચાવી જતી હોય છે. જે મૂલ્યો માટે આખી જિંદગી ઝઝૂમ્યા હોય, એ જ વ્યક્તિગત મૂલ્યો ટોળામાં કે ટોળાં સામે ટકી શકતા નથી ને પછી એ ટોળાંનો જ એક ભાગ બનીને રહી જાય છે. લેખક અહીં વ્યક્તિગત હ્દયની વેદનાને સુપેરે રજૂ કરતા લખે છે,  "હું વિચારતો રહ્યો; માનવ સભ્યતા - સઁસ્કૃતિ વિશે! ક્યાં ગયું આ બધું ? માત્ર પુસ્તકોમાં જ ઉમદા વિચારો ધરબાઈને રહી ગયા છે ? ક્યાં ગયા પેલા મહાન આત્માઓના મૂલ્યો, સિદ્ધાન્તો, વિચારો ? ધૂળમાં મળી ગયા કે શું?" વ્યક્તિ પાસે વિચાર હોય છે ને ટોળું વિચારવાની ક્ષમતા ગુમાવી ચુકેલું માત્ર ઝુંડ છે. જેની સંવેદના મરી પરવારી છે. જેને પોતાની ક...

दोस्ती ..... सुना हैं कितना कुछ इसके बारे में मेने क्या हैं और कैसी होती हैं ? दोस्तों को मिलने के बाद जाना हैं की, दोस्ती लफ्ज़ो से परे होती  हैं । वो एक एहसास हैं जो रूह में बसता हैं  दूर होकर भी हरपल पास होता हैं । वो एक विश्वास हैं जो जहन में पलता हैं चाहे कुछ भी हो जाये वो साथ रहता हैं। वो ऐसी दुआ हैं जिस पर खुदा गौर करता हैं अपने हिस्से की दवा वो दोस्तों में बाट देता हैं । ग़म के बादल छा जाये की अँधेरा घना हो दोस्ती पथ पर उजाला बनकर खड़ी रहती हैं । जिंदगानी का वो पहलू हैं इस सफ़र में की वो हर सफ़र में हमे चलना शिखा देती हैं । तय ना हो पाए फ़ासले जब वीराने में अगर वो महफ़िल सज़ा कर दोस्तों को बचा लेती हैं। देख ले मुश्किल में और कुछ कर भी न पाये तो वो दोस्तों के साथ बैठकर दरिया बहा लेती हैं । याद ही रहेंगे सारे अफ़साने हम लोगो को यहाँ क्योंकि दोस्ती ही हैं जो जमी पर जन्नत देती हैं। अरसों बाद जब भी देखते हैं पुरानी तस्वीरे वो हर  चेहरे की मायूसी को हटा देती हैं। कोई शरारत और शाम की वो गुफ़्तगु में वो सोचकर पलकों  से आँसु गिरा देती हैं । दोस्ती द...

                                                  'તો' હમણાંથી આ 'તો' એ તો આસપાસ ઘુમરી લીધી છે. એવું તો શું છે કે બધું આ તો ની આગળ અટકી જાય છે. હમણાં પરિણામોની સીઝન પૂર બહારમાં ચાલી છે ત્યાં પણ આ 'તો' તો છે જ હો! નક્કી કરેલું હોય કે આટલા ટકા આવે 'તો' આ ને બાકી પેલું તો છે જ. એટલે આવેલ ટકા નક્કી કરી આપે કે હવે શું કરવું ? શું ભણવું ?  રસ હોય એમાં ઓછા માર્કસ પણ  આવી શકે છે એવું સ્વીકારી શકાતું નથી. દુનિયા ફરવાનો શોખ હોય તો દુનિયા ફરી જ લીધી હોય એવું જરૂરું નથી હોતું. કેટલાકને તો આ 'તો' વાતે-વાતે આવે. જુઓને, આ 'તો' ના તો ના કેટલા પ્રકાર! નજીવી વાતમાં પણ એ 'તો' ને તો લઈ જ આવે. જેમ રાયનો પહાડ કરે એમ જ. ક્લાસ માં ટીચર ન આવે તો, વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ....મજ્જા જ મજ્જા.... જો વરસાદ પડે તો...... મજ્જા પડે!! અરે, યાર ચિંતા નહીં કરો છત્રી લઈને બહાર જઈ શકશે. વરસાદ માં ભીંજાવાની મજા આવશે. વરસાદને માણી શકાશે. સાથે ગરમ ભજીયા ને ચા વરસાદ હો...

                                                        બાપુજી  બા ના ગયા પછી બાપુજી જ ઘરના વડિલ. ઘરના ફળિયામાંથી ખબર પડી જાય કે બાપુજી ઘરમાં છે કે નહીં ? કારણ ઘરના ફળિયામાં પણ એના અસ્તિત્વનો એહસાસ રહતો. આમ તો મારા પપ્પા કરતા એ દસ જ મિનિટ મોટા. પણ, મોટા ખરાને એટલે અમે એમને 'બાપુજી' કહીને બોલાવીએ. પચાસ વર્ષની ઉંમરે એકપણ ચાંદીનો વાળ જોવા ન મળે એનું વિસ્મય મારામાં હજુ અંકબન્ધ છે. બાર વર્ષથી ડાયાબિટીસનો રોગ હોવા છતાંય શરીર એકદમ કસાયેલું. સ્વભાવે તેજ પણ હ્દય બહુ કોમળ. સ્નેહ અને લાગણીનો અખૂટ ભંડાર. સંયમી ને શિસ્તબદ્ધ જીવનમાં માનનાર.  કોઈ પણ બાળકને કંઈ પણ થાય કે વાગે તો એનાથી સહન ન થઈ શકે. એ ચિડાય જાય, ખીજાય જાય. બધાને ચિંતા એ રહતી કે એ વિષયમાં બાપુજીને શું કહેશું. લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરવાનું એકમાત્ર સાધન હતું એમની પાસ ને એ પણ એમનો ગુસ્સો.  માતાજીમાં પુરી શ્રધ્ધાને આસ્થા એમને. દરેક તહેવાર ધામધૂમથી જ ઉજવવાના એમની સાથે. બાની જેમ તેઓ પણ  કે...

The story has two different perspective on same situation.  It depends on us how to deal with it. NET/SET Workshop Feb 2018  Special thanks to  Prof. Dilip Barad to arrange such wonderful NET/SET workshop at Department of English - Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University. Department of English is always a source of inspiration for me. I was very excited to attend this workshop because i was not able to attend it last year due to my health.
