(1) Gradually , time is transformed. 21st century is also known as 'Digital Revolution'. We all are living in this digital era. Now, Technology covers all fields and plays very significant role. In Education, we also find this digital revolution in class room using Technology for teaching. Yes, definitely one is right that learning process is older than this. but with the use of technology one can do anything in academic field. So, New generation is always smarter than the old by using technology.
Through the use of it in classroom, Class room becomes more dynamic. Let's see Why technology is necessary to use in education . By the time , regular use of technology it becomes the habit and the part of our social constructivism. Through the use of technology , World provides equal opportunity to each student . If one is not using technology in class room or in education, s/he will kill opportunity. Using technology , we are able to connect one class to World Class. "One Class- World Class - Global Class."
Ken Robinson, Sugata Mitra and Salman Khan's video resources - these three are chief to understand Why technology is more necessary to use in education.
According to Ken Robinson.....education system has the same structure of industry. Institutions also run the same way. He thinks that learning should be free , or not having particular structure. like............ MOOC, Coursera Courses . In such courses there is no age limits to learn the thing . In education system how things are taught is more important rather than what is taught . Our education system is well organised or well structured. people can't break structure which is already decided but technology gives freedom to learn the things with unstructured way.
Human beings suppose to learn everything so, technology gives the various aspects and different threads through which we connect the things.
Example: We can't study one subject in isolation. We have to connect or implement different disciplines in one subject so that Multidisciplinary lead us to understand our own subject.
Poem Like .."Narendra" which we discuss in class . If we study this poem in isolation , we are not able to understand its proper meaning and context . But , If we want to understand the poem , we have to apply other disciplines also like.....History, Social and political aspect in poem. It also provides the space of divergent thinking which leads us to see things with different way.
Sugata Mitra says that Idea of schools become more older. He tries to prove his hypothesis that like..."Teacher are not necessary in class because education can be happened without teacher through the use of technology." SOLE is more essential part in education system. And it is the design of future learning.
Salman Khan's video resources is the key factor. Anything can be taught using video resources. And it has great benefits also .Technology learns the same things many times but human being can't do that things because of human limitations. Technology gives various aspects to learn the things as much as one wants.
1. If we live in modern phenomena, students must be able to understand the contemporary issues and its connections.
2. Surely teachers mould the future of the Nation in Class. But Teachers must remember that they are preparing next generation for future not for past.
3. Through the use of technology , students enhance their various skills in single activity.
4. Time is always moves ahead and technology preserve the past documents as it is. Through preserving past old generations are able to give or keep their culture or tradition alive in next generation also.
Ex ample :
In our Gujarati Culture , We found "Bhavai" which is at the edge of dying but to keep it alive now some people start to upload all the things on internet. we have different tools like.............. You tube, Blog , Face book, Google drive , etc. So, others are able to understand what it is and actually what is existed in past also.
5.Technology gives freedom to do or learn anything and any where when s/he wants which is not allowed by teachers.
6. Using technology in class , teacher gives moral values or morality of life indirectly. like .... transparency in act.
7. Using different Web tools in class, teachers give the importance of group work or team work and work in collaboration. When we use technology for single activity , we use so many web tools to complete it and therefore it is more important to work together rather than in isolation. Human beings suppose to work in collaboration not in isolation.
8.Blackboard is still important part of education and even we can't think to replace it. But with blackboard , one has to use projector or any video resources or any other web tools to enhance the subject knowledge or enrich subject matters which is not done through the use of only Blackboard.
9. By the time , regular use of technology it becomes the habit and the part of our social constructivism.
This practical World or Market demands for various skills at a time. and if we really support to " Digital India" , We have to teach through the use of technology. Each student has at least his/her own Email-Id, and has to have his /her virtual presence. All things are possible only when we start giving the right information and using it in education with proper guidance. Thus, technology is necessary to use in education.
(2) There is the vast difference between 'Using' and Integration' technology.If teacher is used to teaching with the use of different web tools in class, it is called Use of technology. Use of technology becomes the optional where as we can't escape from integration of technology. Through the use of technology teachers and students extending their contact . Like... in What App , Face book etc.. But It is optional to use. Teachers use the technology where as students integrate the technology .
Through the integration of technology , students learn so many skills at a time. Integration of technology is the process. It develops the cognitive thinking of mind.
Use of technology is purely for the sake of using whereas integration is a routine part of classroom environment. Technology is used to complete lower order thinking tasks where in integration technology is used encourage higher order thinking skills. Technology is used is solely by individuals working alone. Technology is used to facilitate collaboration in and out of the class room in integration.
(3) Integration of technology means what we ( students) all are doing with the use of different web tools. E.g.. . Writing Blog tasks, uploading our videos, etc.... what you( Teacher) are doing in class using different web tools that is called use of technology and what we all are doing with the help of different web tools and work in collaboration in language lab and group activity that is called the integration of technology. In integration of technology students learn from SOLE.
